Option 2: The Olympians’ Footsteps (Salt Lake and Park City)
In February of 2002, athletes from every country gathered in Salt Lake City for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Now, conference participants will have a chance to see what all the excitement was about.
Our Olympic tour begins at the Olympic Cauldron Park, the site of the Opening and Closing of the 2002 Winter Olympic Ceremonies. The chills, thrills, and spills come rushing back to life at the visitors' center, where an art gallery and interactive theater present the greatest moments of the Games in remarkably familiar and unfamiliar ways. Images from the country's top photographers have been collected into a luminous exhibition of humanity, courage, and connections. Granted special access during the Games, these photographers captured some of the most poignant, intimate scenes of the Olympic Spirit.
Next, this tour continues in Park City with a special tour of the Utah Olympic Park. This venue was the host of the bobsled, ski jumping, luge, and skeleton events. Standing at the top of the bobsled and ski jumping runs, a simple look down will offer guests a new reverence for the Olympians’ courage and talent!
Also at the Utah Olympic Park, the Alf Engen Ski Museum offers an interactive journey including a 10-minute film on Utah's ski history, as well as displays on cross-country skiing and Nordic jumping. In addition, the museum offers interactive games of skill and touch-screen displays.
Price: $50 per participant
Includes: Transportation to each site, admission fees, tour guide, and boxed lunch
NOTE: Excursion must have a minimum of 30 confirmed participants in order to run; if minimum is not met, excursion will be cancelled.
